I’m inspired by life, expressive faces, natural forms and the rhythm of line and colour. Using colour and texture to explore expression and mood, my art centres on the figurative and emotional aspects of life. I enjoy the tactile quality of traditional painting, which has influenced my approach to digital painting to apply freehand lines and individual brushstrokes to paint the finished artwork.

Like the waxing and waning phases of the Moon, light moves across our faces. We mirror ourselves in others; seeking similarities, differences and a sense of belonging.

These paintings explore faces from young to old, through the play of light and a monochromatic palette mixing shades of blue.
