Designing a deck of cards involves creating artwork for either 52 playing cards (+ Jokers) or 78 tarot cards, a creative commitment that requires a lot of ink and time. It is also a deeply rewarding and inspiring commitment! Through incorporating the familiar symbols and structure of a traditional card system (suits, names, order), there is unlimited artistic freedom to take the overall theme in any direction imaginable, with the joy of bringing characters to life in story-based artworks.
